Dr. Roberta Fedele | Clinical Psychologist & Psychotherapist at BioPsychoSocial Clinic
For nearly two decades, Dr. Roberta Fedele has practiced as a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist in Italy and the United Arab Emirates, providing psychological care to adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. At BioPsychoSocial Clinic, her clinical practice is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy—an approach that focuses on understanding the emotional meanings underlying human experiences rather than simply addressing symptoms. She completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Sapienza University of Rome, where she worked closely with the Chair of Psychotherapy and Clinical Psychology, led by Professor Massimo Grasso and his colleagues. This experience shaped her clinical philosophy, emphasizing the importance of exploring the emotional patterns that influence thoughts, feelings, and behaviour rather than focusing solely on diagnoses.
Throughout her career, Dr. Fedele has supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and relationship difficulties. She believes many emotional challenges stem from unresolved conflicts and unhealthy relational patterns, making therapy a process of self-discovery, emotional awareness, and personal growth rather than simple symptom management. Instead of offering ready-made solutions, she encourages patients to reconnect with their own inner resources, helping them better understand themselves, regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and make decisions based on their personal values.
A defining characteristic of Dr. Fedele’s work is her integrated approach to mental healthcare. By combining psychodynamic psychotherapy with child psychology, parental guidance, and family mediation, she views every individual within the context of their relationships. When working with children, she actively involves parents, recognizing that emotional development is deeply influenced by the family environment. Supporting caregivers helps foster healthier communication, stronger emotional bonds, and lasting positive change that extends well beyond the therapy room.
Having practiced across both Europe and the Middle East, Dr. Fedele has developed a deep appreciation for the role culture plays in mental health. Since moving to Dubai in 2012, she has worked with individuals from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, learning that effective therapy requires both clinical expertise and cultural sensitivity. She believes meaningful psychological care requires understanding each person’s cultural, family, and social context while maintaining a sound clinical and evidence-based approach, allowing her to build strong therapeutic relationships while providing culturally informed care.
As awareness of mental health continues to grow worldwide, Dr. Fedele is encouraged by the increasing openness toward therapy, particularly among younger generations who have helped normalize conversations around emotional wellbeing. She believes society must continue improving access to qualified professionals, strengthening emotional education in schools, and supporting families and workplaces in prioritizing psychological health. While advances in neuroscience, digital healthcare, and online therapy continue to expand access to treatment, she believes technology can never replace the human connection that lies at the heart of psychotherapy.
Looking back on her journey, Dr. Fedele encourages aspiring psychologists to embrace lifelong learning, ongoing supervision, personal growth, and continuous clinical experience. She believes professional excellence is built through continuous study, supervision, and a lifelong commitment to learning, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, thoughtful, and high-quality psychological care.
